We understand. Here's everything you need to know about deleting your Vows2Vintage account.
How to Delete Your Account
In the Mobile App
- 1Open the Vows2Vintage app
- 2Go to Profile, then Settings
- 3Scroll down and tap Delete account
- 4Read what is removed, and download a copy of your data if you want one
- 5Tap Email me a code, then enter the 6-digit code we send you
- 6Your deletion is scheduled for 14 days later
Without the App
You can't delete your account from the website yet. Email help@vows2vintage.com from the address on your account, and we'll do it for you and confirm by email.
What Happens to Your Data
Permanently Deleted
- Your profile information (name, bio, avatar)
- Your listings and their photos, apart from items you sold
- Your saved favorites
- Your shipping addresses
- Your browsing history and interactions
- Your data export files
Retained for Compliance
- Order history (required for tax and dispute resolution)
- Transaction records (financial compliance requirements)
- Your messages, for the person you wrote to (shown as from "A member", without your name or photo; see the questions below)
- The record of anything you sold (including the item description and photos, for up to 12 months, because a buyer can raise a claim after a sale and the listing is the evidence)
We retain this information to comply with legal obligations and protect all users involved in transactions. Where a claim or payment dispute is open, we keep the records it relates to until it is resolved.
14-Day Grace Period
When you confirm your deletion request, your account enters a 14-day grace period. During this time:
- You can sign in and cancel the deletion
- Your listings will be hidden from the marketplace
After 14 days, your account is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered, apart from the records listed under "Retained for Compliance" above.
Before You Delete
Export Your Data
Download a copy of your information before deleting. In the app, the Delete account screen has a button for it.
Complete Active Orders
You can't delete your account while an order you bought or sold is paid but not finished, including the 3 days after it arrives and while we're looking at a problem with it.
