Community Guidelines and Prohibited Items Policy

Vows2Vintage is a wedding marketplace built on trust. These Guidelines apply to everyone who lists, buys, or messages on the platform. Violating them may result in content removal, account restriction, suspension, or permanent removal.

1. What Can Be Listed

Every Listing must be wedding related or suitable for wedding use, whether new, pre-loved, or handmade.

1.1 Allowed

• Bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride and groom dresses, suits, tuxedos, veils, shoes, and accessories
• Wedding décor, centerpieces, floral items, signage, tableware, linens, and lighting
• Rentals and event supplies such as arches, backdrops, furniture, and lighting
• Wedding stationery, favors, and gifts
• Items bundled or styled for events, for example a set of 50 glass bud vases for reception tables

1.2 Not allowed because it is off topic

• Everyday fashion, including casual wear, streetwear, and sneakers
• General home goods not styled for events, such as throw pillows or kitchenware
• Electronics, appliances, and furniture not tied to weddings
• Hobby items such as gym gear, gaming consoles, and camping equipment

We may remove or unpublish a Listing that falls outside the wedding category. You can appeal within 30 days at help@vows2vintage.com.

2. How to Behave

2.1 Be respectful

• Treat Buyers, Sellers, and our staff courteously.
• No harassment, hate speech, threats, bullying, or discrimination of any kind.
• No profanity, slurs, or offensive remarks in Listings, messages, or anything else you post.

2.2 Keep it on the platform

• Use platform messaging for order coordination.
• Do not pressure anyone to transact off the platform or to share personal contact details.
• Do not include phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, or links to other sales channels in Listings, photographs, or messages.
• No spam, self-promotion, or repetitive advertising.

2.3 Be honest

• Describe items truthfully, including condition, size, measurements, color, alterations, and every defect.
• Take measurements yourself with a tape measure, with the item laid flat, or say that the Listing gives only the designer's size.
• Use real photographs of the actual item, with a real photograph first. Label styled images as styled, and label manufacturer, designer, and stock images as such.
• Never post an image in which the item has been generated or altered by artificial intelligence or any other tool.
• If you believe you know the designer but cannot confirm it, say the designer is unconfirmed and explain why. Never guess, and never put an unconfirmed designer's name in the title.
• Be accurate in messages. What you tell a Buyer about an item before the sale counts as part of your Listing.
• Never present a replica or an "inspired by" item as genuine.
• Never describe an item as new, original, or unused if it is altered, reconditioned, reclaimed, used, or secondhand.
• Do not state a discount or a percentage off a retail price unless the item was actually offered at that price and you can prove it.

2.4 Do not game the system

• One account per person, unless we approve otherwise in writing.
• Do not create a new account to evade a suspension or a restriction.
• Do not manipulate search results or any rating or review feature, including through additional accounts or coordinated activity.
• Do not post false statements about another user, or use any public comment to pressure someone into a refund outside our policies.

2.5 Respect privacy

• Never share another user's personal information outside the transaction.
• Use a Buyer's shipping information only to fulfil the order, never for marketing or personal contact.

2.6 Follow the law

• Do not list or sell anything illegal, unsafe, stolen, counterfeit, or infringing.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal rules that apply to selling online, including any licensing, labeling, tax, and safety requirements that apply to you.

3. Prohibited Items

The following are prohibited regardless of wedding relevance. Listings containing them are removed immediately.

3.1 Stolen, counterfeit, and infringing

• Stolen goods or property obtained without authorization. See our Stolen Goods Policy.
• Counterfeit designer apparel, jewelry, accessories, or décor
• Unauthorized reproductions of branded or copyrighted material, including signage using another party's trademarks or characters

3.2 Recalled, hazardous, and unsafe

• Any item subject to a recall, safety notice, or stop-sale order
• Flammable chemicals, pesticides, compressed gas, and other hazardous materials
• Damaged or modified electrical equipment, exposed or frayed wiring, and items missing required safety labeling or certification marks
• Any item that requires a legally mandated safety warning or label that you cannot supply

3.3 Regulated substances

• Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and paraphernalia
• Prescription medication, cannabis, tobacco, vaping products, and alcohol

3.4 Weapons and dangerous items

• Firearms, ammunition, explosive materials, and weapon accessories
• Knives designed for combat or self-defense. Decorative cake knives and kitchen knives may be allowed.
• Fireworks, sparklers classified as dangerous fireworks, tasers, pepper spray, and any item intended to harm

3.5 Hate, violence, and obscenity

• Items or content promoting hate groups, violence, or discrimination
• Explicit sexual material, pornography, and obscene imagery
• Items glorifying violent crime or tragedy

3.6 Human and animal materials

• Human remains, body parts, and bodily fluids
• Products derived from endangered species, including ivory, protected feathers, and protected skins
• Live animals and insects

3.7 Financial and regulated instruments

• Real or replica currency, credit cards, and gift cards
• Securities, crypto tokens, and lottery tickets
• Devices or manuals for hacking, lock-picking, or bypassing systems

3.8 Medical

• Prescription medical devices, including contact lenses
• Diagnostic test kits, vaccines, and medical supplies

3.9 Other

• Mystery boxes and any listing where the contents are undisclosed
• Services promoting illegal activity, escorting, or explicit adult experiences
• Undergarments, shapewear, and hosiery that have been worn, which cannot be resold for health reasons

4. Listing Standards

• Clear, accurate titles and descriptions, with no unconfirmed designer's name in a title
• At least three real photographs of the actual item in good light, with a real photograph first
• One of our seven condition grades, selected honestly, with every flaw disclosed and photographed
• For anything worn, measurements taken with a tape measure with the item laid flat, or a statement that the Listing gives only the designer's size
• No keyword stuffing and no spammy titles
• Multi-purpose items framed in a wedding context, for example "event chairs" rather than "folding chairs"

Our team reviews Listings before they are published. We may edit or remove Listings that do not meet these standards.

5. How to Report a Problem

You do not need an account to report a Listing or a user. Report any of the following by any method below:

• Suspected stolen goods
• Suspected counterfeit goods
• Intellectual property infringement
• Prohibited items
• Harassment or abusive conduct
• Fraud or suspicious activity

Please include a link or screenshot and a description of the issue. We review every report and act where action is warranted.

6. Enforcement

We may remove or hide a Listing, restrict features, apply a payout hold, suspend an account, terminate an account, request proof of authenticity, legality, or ownership, and notify law enforcement where the law requires it or where the circumstances warrant it.

These measures are discretionary and are governed by Section 8 of the Terms of Service.

7. Notice and Appeals

If we remove your Listing or act on your account because of an alleged violation of law or of a policy, we will give you a written statement of reasons as described in Section 14.2 of the Terms of Service and Section 16.2 of the Seller Agreement.

You may appeal within 30 days by writing to help@vows2vintage.com with your explanation and supporting documentation. We will review and respond in writing.

8. Changes

We update these Guidelines as laws, community needs, and product categories change. Updates are posted here with a new effective date. Material changes take effect at least 30 days after we post them and apply only going forward.
